A group of passionate and dedicated organizations that have come together to shape the future of school-aged childcare. These members were integral in the formation of SACA and continue to play a pivotal role in supporting and advocating for high-quality, sustainable childcare services across the UK.

  • Networking & Collaboration: Connect with other providers and stakeholders at SACA events (minimum 4 per year), workshops, and roundtables.

  • Bi-Termly Calls: Ensuring open communication, monitoring progress on collaborative initiatives and address any emerging issues

  • Data & Resources: Access and share benchmarking data, impact reports, and a range of communication assets to support your organization's efforts.

  • Exclusive Invitations: Receive invites to exclusive events, including quarterly meetings with government representatives and sector leaders.

  • Website/Awareness: Showcasing of members within the SACA website and communications

  • Assets: You will receive a range of key communication assets that can be used to support the Associations messaging

  • PR Campaigns: Support to SACA members to campaign for positive change and ensure the sustainability of the sector

Membership Criteria

At SACA, we are committed to bringing together organisations that share our vision of advocating for better school-aged childcare services. Our membership is open to providers who meet the following criteria. By joining, members gain access to valuable resources, a collective voice in policy advocacy, and a platform for sharing best practices within the sector.

To ensure that SACA represents only the highest standards in school-aged childcare, prospective members must meet the following criteria:

  • Ofsted Registration - Members must operate Ofsted-registered provisions with a minimum of 5 separate URNs (Unique Reference Numbers) across different sites.

  • Ofsted Compliance - Members must meet Ofsted standards and achieve a minimum 90%+ MET (Met) rating across all inspected provisions. This ensures that the organization maintains high-quality care and education standards.

  • Adherence to Safeguarding Standards - All members must adhere to the BSI standards of Child Safeguarding for out-of-school settings, specifically PAS 5222:2024. This ensures that safeguarding and the well-being of children are always a priority.

  • Policies and Procedures -Members must have a full set of policies and procedures in place, including but not limited to:

    • Safeguarding policies

    • Safer recruitment practices

    • Health and safety protocols

  • All statutory requirements related to child care and education settings

  • Commitment to Professional Development - Members must demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and professional development, ensuring they stay aligned with industry best practices and regulatory updates.

Annual Fee of £800 for founder members – to provide the following data analysis, communications plan for members, respective letters / responses based on Government requirements, event planning / engagement. Founder members will receive regular communications / briefing documents (minimum bi-termly) with the ability to feed into the meetings and attend quarterly events with the Department of Education.
