Every Child, Every Opportunity
Our mission is to work with key stakeholder to ensure all children have access to high-quality, affordable childcare.
SACA (School Aged Childcare Association) is a national membership association dedicated to representing medium to large private, voluntary and independent (PVI) providers of out-of-school activities (School Aged Childcare- including Breakfast Clubs, After School Clubs and School Holiday Camps)
What We Propose to Provide:
Collaborative Forum
A forum for sharing the work the members deliver and to provide key feedback, messaging, data/benchmarking, case studies and proposed delivery models specific to current and future Government investment / funding into the sector including but not exclusive to Holiday Activity Food Fund (HAF), Tax-Free Childcare (TFC), National Wraparound Fund (NWF) and Breakfast Clubs.
A Voice for Medium to Large Providers
SACA will take on board the views of relevant stakeholders and ensure these are agreed and provided to the Dept of Education to consider for the wider interaction of current and proposed programmes and how they work together as well as the impact of the programmes of work on the different parts of the sector.
Our Purpose
To provide a co-ordinated voice for medium to large providers (5+ schools/ clubs) of out of school activities (e.g. Holiday Activities, Before & After School programmes) within the Department of Education’s out of school (School-Aged Childcare) steering groups.
The children’s activity / childcare policy landscape is evolving, with the new government committed to providing free breakfast clubs for all children and expanding wraparound / holiday care.
To ensure this support is effectively directed, representation from medium to large providers is required for the school-aged childcare sector to strengthen the sector’s voice in policy discussions.
SACA will provide insight, feedback for the Dept of Education and/or support any lobbying agreed to support the sustainability of the sector and positive outcomes for children and young people.
